Outdoor Camera

  • $199.99

Our user-friendly web portal is your gateway to interactive video monitoring. The camera sends a live feed to your computer, mobile phone, PDA or tablet. Monitor anytime, anywhere.

Your video footage is completely confidential. The feed does not transmit to the Frontpoint Monitoring Center. You control all access, via your MyFrontpoint.com account.

You have multiple viewing options, including HD resolutions up to 1280x800. Please note that since this video transmits over the Internet, your personal picture quality will depend on your available bandwidth and viewing device.

In addition to live streaming, the camera also generates a video clip when it detects motion. You’ll receive notification via text or email. You can view the clips immediately, or the portal will store them for you. We suggest selecting a lower resolution for archiving video clips. Video files contain a lot of data and high resolution clips could exceed your storage limits. (You have 50 MB of storage space available at any time, and up to 500 MB of monthly upload capability.)

Please see important notes in Installation Tips.

Installation Tips

Required Items for Installation:

  • Ultimate Monitoring service plan
  • Broadband internet access (DSL or Cable)
  • A router that supports Plug & Play (UPnP) or knowledge of how to configure port forwarding
  • Windows PC with Microsoft Internet Explorer (needed only for initial configuration process)
  • Masonry drill and experience drilling through the exterior of your residence strongly recommended.

Setup and Wireless Connection

Set up in 3 easy steps:

  • Prep
  • Connect
  • Position

First, attach the camera’s antenna, by simply screwing it on. Then connect the power adaptor and plug it in. Choose an outlet that isn’t controlled by a switch, so you don’t accidentally turn it off.

Next, sync up the camera and your wireless router, using your personal account on our online portal. On-screen instructions will guide you through the easy push-button configuration. No DVR or advanced network configuration required – nothing tricky. Specific, step-by-step instructions also arrive with the camera.

Now your camera is linked to the internet and ready to protect your outdoor areas. The online connection is wireless, with great range. However, the camera does require power, so you’ll need to choose a location within 10 feet of an outlet.

Choose a location that provides the best view for security purposes. For example, you may want the camera pointing toward the driveway, back door or back yard.

The mounting accessories provided give you the option to suspend the camera from an overhead location, like the overhang on your roof. Or attach the bottom of the camera base to any flat surface. A wooden structure such as a fence, tree, or wood trim on your house provides the best mounting surface. You will need to a drill to screw the camera’s base into the wood.

Important Note: Frontpoint is not able to provide any support for the physical installation of outdoor cameras. If you do not have a Plug & Play router, you will need to configure a setting called "Port Forwarding" on your router. Frontpoint can provide you instructions for this, but cannot assist with any reconfiguration of your router. If you require professional assistance in reconfiguring your router, please contact your internet service provider or home networking specialist (such as www.geeksquad.com). ***Routers NOT currently compatible: Apple Time Capsule, Netgear CG814WG v.2 from Comcast.
